DOLPHIN MPS MICROCURRENT
Scar Release Therapy in Niagara

Why Scar Tissue Matters
Scar tissue is often considered “healed” once the surface closes.
But beneath the skin, scars can continue to influence how the body moves, feels, and regulates. They may create areas of restriction that affect circulation, nerve signaling, lymphatic flow, and the movement of qi.
Scar Release Therapy combines acupuncture with Dolphin MPS microcurrent to gently address these restrictions and support more complete healing.

A scar is not just a line on the skin
It is a change in the structure of tissue. Even old, well-healed scars can:
- Limit circulation to the surrounding area
- Disrupt lymphatic movement
- Affect nerve communication
- Create tension or pulling in connected tissues
- Contribute to pain or altered sensation
In some cases, these changes are subtle. In others, they show up as ongoing discomfort, tightness, or symptoms that seem unrelated to the original injury or surgery.
A Traditional Chinese Medicine Perspective
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, scars are thought to disrupt the vital flow of energy and blood in the body. When flow is interrupted, the body may compensate in other areas. Over time, this can contribute to patterns of tension or pain, as well as reduced mobility. It can even affect digestive or hormonal imbalances (especially scars on the torso). When flow is sub-optimal, the body is unable to heal effectively. Treatment focuses on gently restoring movement and communication in the body.
Common Types of Scars We Work With
Abdominal & Pelvic Scars
- C-section scars
- Hysterectomy or laparoscopic procedures
- Appendix or gallbladder surgery
These scars can influence not only local tissue, but also digestion, pelvic circulation, and hormonal patterns. If your scar is connected to pregnancy or recovery after birth, you may also find it helpful to read more about postpartum acupuncture support.
Breast & Chest Scars
- Breast reduction or augmentation
- Lumpectomy or mastectomy
- Biopsy sites
These areas are closely connected to lymphatic flow and can affect the chest, shoulders, and overall sense of openness in the upper body. For those navigating recovery after breast surgery, this work can be integrated with acupuncture support during oncology care.
Surgical or Injury Scars
- Knee surgery (ACL, meniscus, joint replacement)
- Other joint or soft tissue procedures
- Any area where tissue has been cut, stitched, or deeply impacted
These scars may contribute to ongoing tightness, altered movement patterns, or compensation in surrounding muscles and joints. Even small scars can create noticeable restrictions depending on location and sensitivity.

Fertility & Abdominal Scars
Scars in the lower abdomen (such as C-section or laparoscopic surgery) may contribute to reduced circulation and stagnation in the area of the reproductive organs.
Scar therapy can be used alongside fertility acupuncture to:
- Support circulation to the uterus and ovaries
- Reduce restriction in surrounding tissues
- Encourage smoother flow of qi and blood
If you are trying to conceive, abdominal scars are worth paying attention to. Customized fertility focused treatment plans may incorporate Dolphin MPS scar therapy, fertility acupuncture and Arvigo Abdominal Therapy as needed.
How Scar Release Therapy Works
Scar Release Therapy uses a gentle microcurrent (Dolphin MPS) alongside hands-on techniques to help soften and relax these contracted areas.
The microcurrent is applied around the scar to support circulation, encourage cellular repair, and assist the body in gradually breaking down and reorganizing dense scar tissue. As this process unfolds, the lymphatic system helps clear cellular debris, and many people begin to notice changes such as reduced tightness, improved mobility, and a softer feel to the tissue.
Because the fascial system is interconnected, releasing a restriction in one area can also reduce compensatory tension elsewhere in the body. Treatment is generally comfortable, and progress depends on factors such as the age and depth of the scar and how the body responds over time. Even long-standing scars can continue to change when the surrounding tissue is given the right support.
Most people notice reduced tightness or pulling, as well as improved mobility. There may be a reduction in sensitivity or numbness. Generally, expect a sense of ease or softness in the tissue and a potential for change in related symptoms (pain, digestion or tension patterns). These changes are often gradual and continue to evolve over a series of treatments.
