Integrative support for hormonal shifts, sleep disruption, and midlife changes

If your body feels different — your sleep, mood, cycles, temperature, or stress tolerance — but you’ve been told everything is “normal,” you’re not imagining it. Perimenopause can begin years before periods stop. Hormonal shifts during this stage affect far more than menstrual timing. They influence sleep, digestion, mood, skin, and nervous system regulation.
Acupuncture offers steady, individualized support through this transition.

What Perimenopause Can Feel Like

Symptoms may appear gradually or seem to arrive all at once. Common concerns include:

  • Irregular or changing periods
  • Night sweats or heat sensations
  • Waking between 1–4am
  • Increased anxiety or mood shifts
  • Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
  • Fatigue that doesn’t resolve with rest
  • Digestive changes
  • Skin dryness or breakouts

These changes are common. They are not random, and in Traditional Chinese Medicine they are clues that point to patterns in the body.

Why Symptoms Intensify in Midlife

During perimenopause, estrogen and progesterone fluctuate unpredictably. This affects the nervous system, temperature regulation, sleep depth, and emotional resilience.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this stage is understood as a gradual shift in internal energy balance and restorative capacity. When the system feels depleted or overstimulated, heat and restlessness can rise.
Treatment focuses on regulating and nurturing the flow of energies in the body to restore balance – not suppress change.

How Acupuncture Can Help

Care is tailored to your specific patterns and may support:

  • Deeper, more consistent sleep
  • Reduction in night sweats or heat
  • Improved mood stability
  • Calmer nervous system regulation
  • More predictable cycles (when still cycling)
  • Greater energy and digestive balance

Treatment is adjusted over time as your body transitions.

The goal is not to reverse menopause. It is to help you FEEL BETTER and move through it with greater resilience.

An Integrative Approach

Acupuncture during perimenopause can work on its own or alongside conventional care. It is customized to your individual needs whether you are:
Currently using HRT
Managing symptoms without medication
Or still in early cycle changes

When to Begin

You don’t need to wait until symptoms feel severe.
If sleep has changed.
If your cycle feels unpredictable.
If you feel less resilient to stress than you used to.
Those are reasonable times to seek support.
