ACCESSIBLE WELLNESS
AcuNiagara’s Community Acupuncture
Bringing Affordable Acupuncture to the Niagara region
Treatments in a small group setting are typically priced lower than private sessions. Since acupuncture works best with multiple sessions – this can make a difference in how often patients get acupuncture. More frequent sessions often bring better outcomes, faster.
Introducing…
Semi-private Community Acupuncture
Community-style acupuncture is provided in a small-group environment. Unlike a private treatment room appointment, acupuncture is offered in a larger space where multiple people get treated at the same time.
Patients need only to roll up their pant legs and shirt sleeves. The acupuncture needles may be applied to feet, hands, limbs, ears, and scalp – all at easily accessible areas of the body.
This is a similar setting to the traditional way acupuncture is offered throughout Asia, where it is often done in a large open space in hospitals and community clinics.
What can Community Acupuncture treat?
Although acupuncture points are only used on certain areas of the body, a wide range of issues can be treated this way. Many of the “VIP” (very important points) are located on the distal parts of the limbs, as well as on the ears and scalp.

What to Expect
At AcuNiagara, the community acupuncture option is currently available on the first Thursday of each month. If it is your first time at clinic, the appointment includes a brief intake consult and your first treatment. Once we put together your treatment plan, this may include either private or community style treatments – or a mix of both.
The community treatment space has several treatment tables, with ample space between them. The acupuncturist will greet you and have a brief chat about your needs and the focus of your treatment that day.
Once the acupuncture needles are applied, your practitioner will check your comfort level and then treat the next person. Your practitioner will remain in the room treating others – and can check in with you or make any adjustments if needed.
Community Acupuncture
Semi-private group acupuncture may be a great option for:
- Patients who would like to be treated at the same time as friends or family members.
- Those who have limited third-party insurance coverage.
- Those who have “run out of insurance” for the year, but would benefit from maintenance visits and affordable continued care.
- Patients who are flexible with dates and times (community acupuncture option is available at set dates only).
Private Acupuncture
1:1 sessions are the right choice for:
- Patients who prefer to be in a private room for intake and treatments.
- Special modalities such as Aesthetic Acupuncture (Face + Body Acupuncture) or Arvigo Therapy.
- Complex situations that require a longer intake and consultation time with the practitioner.
- Acupuncture back treatments (with or without cupping).
- Acupuncture treatments on both the front and back of the body.
- Patients looking for specific days and times.
